Knowing the anatomy of the game animal we are after is essential to our success in the field. Where are the vitals located inside the animal and from what angle can I drive a bullet to intersect them. New hunters often shoot/aim at the whole animal and not target a specific organ for destruction inside the animal. We hunt mammals and they require blood and oxygen to live. If we target either of these organs responsible for pumping blood (the heart) or the oxygen processing tanks (the lungs), we can quickly dispatch our game animal.
